8 Months

Sorry for the disappearing act this past week.  I’ve been busy with last-minute shopping, baking, party prep and having fun with my family.  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and got to spend lots of time with the ones you love.

One week ago Mr. L turned 8 months old!

This past one has been full of fun, laughs, standing and lots of teeth.  At 8 months old, little man has 8 teeth with the 9th one starting to peek through.  Needless to say we have only had two nights of sleeping through the night but I know it will get better soon (crossing fingers, crossing fingers).

A week before he turned 8 months, Mr. L took two steps and my mom immediately took him out to get his first pair of shoes.  He loves his shoes and they have really helped him with stability while standing and he has taken a couple more steps.  Nothing consistent but I have a feeling we will have a 9 month walker.

Mr. L loves to eat and likes to steal food off anyone’s plate.  If he can reach it, it’s fair game.  If you ever make it to our house..watch out!  Your food might mysteriously disappear from your plate.

The cold weather is definitely here in NJ so Mr. L and I are regulars at the gym.  I started taking him once or twice a week for 30 minutes to the gym child care and now he is finally used to it.  He now goes daily for over an hour and has so much fun.  He loves bubbles, crawling around and playing with the Little People fire house.

As for me, this past month has been a big one with weight loss.  I lost 5 lbs and I think my speed work on the treadmill is the reason.  I’m upped my weekly mileage and run around 35-40 miles a week.   I’m trying not to indulge in too many holiday desserts but if I do, then I hit the treadmill hard the next day.   I’ve run 720 miles since I had Mr. L in April.

Next month brings Mr. L’s 1st airplane ride and trip to Disney World!  Can’t wait!
