A Runner’s Confessions

I have heard people refer to runners as a “weird bunch”.  I have to admit that sometimes we are.  We wake up really early to run 26.2 miles, we spend hours on Saturdays or Sundays running double-digits and we don’t mind running in the cold, wind or rain.  But beyond that, there are some weird runner habits that I have.

I always have a back up pair (or 4) of running shoes for just in case moments.

Like, just in case I forget my shoes somewhere or lose them.   Crazy thoughts I tell ya.

I horde freebies from races even though I probably will never eat them.

Those GU chomps will be consumed but the others?  Those will probably just linger in the pantry and drive my husband nuts.

I have a mess of a running clothes drawer.

This is probably just my personal problem but I always have too many running clothes.  I just can’t get rid of any of it.

I never know what to do with my medals so I usually just stick them in a plastic bag.

Those are my runner confessions.  Got anything to add????

  1. I would have just the opposite problem with freebies – the Gu chomps would have no home but I’d be all over that Larabar and Z bar.

My confession: I can’t bear to throw away bibs but I have no idea what to do with them. They are in drawers all around the house. It’s sad.
