It’s Marathon Week
It’s finally here. The week that I’ve been thinking about since I hit the defer button on my 2011 marathon entry. The week that I’ve been training for since Mr. L was born. It’s finally NYC Marathon week!

Marathon week is usually filled with excitement, last-minute runs and carb-loading but this year is a bit different because we have Miss Nasty Sandy to deal with. The gym is closed and it’s not safe to take to the streets, so my early week runs are not going to happen.
I’m not upset though. The training is done and one missed run this week isn’t going to make me any slower on Sunday. Instead I will hole myself up with Halloween candy and try not to let Mr. L get hurt because this is now happening…
Oh man, I am in for it. At least, that’s what everyone is telling me. Looks like I may have a walker on my hands sooner rather than later. Someone needs to remind him that he is just 6 months old.
Has weather every messed up your training plans? Someone please tell me that eating copious amounts of Halloween candy is acceptable carb-loading?
