Trying Out a New Class
Last night’s workout: 750 meter swim and 60 minute Aquatic Zumba Class
Steph @ Run for Fun was in visiting New York City yesterday so we decided to meet up at lunch. Location of choice? You guessed it…16 Handles! It was Steph’s 1st time and my 2nd at this froyo mecca and I decided to try some new flavors.
Mine is on the left
In the mix went Graham Cracker, Cookies & Creme and Strawberry and I topped it with sprinkles and Reeses Pieces. It all managed to get in my belly!
Steph and I chatted about running and our plans to cheer fellow bloggers at the NYC Marathon in November. It was so great to meet her and I can’t wait for November.
The husband managed to leave work at a normal time last night (6pm) and so we headed straight to the gym. A swim workout was on my schedule last night and I got in 12 laps before the lifeguards needed our lane for a class. At first I was kind of annoyed but then the husband and I decided to join the class.
We ended up being part of the Aquatic Zumba class! The class was 60 minutes long and worked your core, upper arms and legs without the strain of pounding. At first I thought I wasn’t getting that great of a workout but the soreness in my arms and abs this morning are telling me otherwise. Yes the class is mostly older women (hubby was the only dude but he could care less) but it was really fun and a great workout. I am definitely going back!
After the class was over, I swam some more laps to bring my total to 750 meters while the hubby hit the hot tub .
By the time we got home it was almost 845p so we made a quick dinner of grilled pizza. I made myself a buffalo chicken pizza
and the hubs went with a meatball & tomato pie.
We enjoyed our pizza while watching Anthony Bourdain visit Chernobyl on No Reservations! Why would he go there?????
Do you like to try new classes at the gym? Ever done an aquatics class?August 16, 2011
